Where will the girl get married?
Parents often match the horoscopes of potential grooms when planning their daughter’s marriage. This step is justified as they are naturally concerned about their daughter’s future. However, before proceeding, they should also consider the following:
At what age will the girl get married?
In which direction?
What kind of family will she marry into?
What will her husband’s background, caste, social status, and number of siblings be?
The girl’s birth chart (natal horoscope) can provide clear insights into her future husband and in-laws.
The seventh house from the ascendant (Lagna) in the birth chart of a girl represents her married life, husband, and marital relationships. From this house, one can deduce the husband’s height, complexion, appearance, character, nature, financial status, profession, and family.
If the 7th house contains Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius, marriage will take place within 90 km of the birthplace.
If the 7th house contains Moon, Venus, or Jupiter, the marriage will be close to the girl’s birthplace.
If the 7th house has movable signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn), the marriage occurs within 200 km.
If dual signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) are present, marriage occurs 80–100 km away.
If the lord of the 7th house is in the 12th house, marriage may take place abroad, or the husband may take the bride abroad after marriage.
If Mercury is the 7th lord and unaffected by malefic planets, marriage happens between 13 to 18 years.
If Mars is affected by malefic planets in the 7th house, marriage happens before 18 years.
If Venus, the planet of youth, is afflicted, marriage occurs at 25 years.
If Moon as the 7th lord is afflicted, marriage is likely at 22 years.
If Jupiter as the 7th lord is unaffected, marriage occurs at 27–28 years.
If all planets aspect the 7th house and it has benefic influences in movable signs, marriage occurs at a suitable age.
If Mercury is in its own sign (Gemini or Virgo) in the 7th house, marriage may occur in childhood.
When transiting Jupiter enters the Ascendant, 3rd, 5th, 9th, or 11th house, marriage is likely that year (provided Saturn does not aspect the ascendant or 7th house).
If Jupiter is placed in the ascendant or 7th house, marriage tends to happen that year.
Two methods to find the marriage year:
Add 10 to the sign number in the 7th house – the sum is the expected year of marriage.
Add 4 years for each malefic planet aspecting the 7th house – the total gives the marriage year.
Based on the sign in the 7th house:
If Aries, Leo, Sagittarius or Sun/Venus are present → East
If Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn or Moon/Saturn → South
If Gemini, Libra, Aquarius or Mars/Rahu/Ketu → West
If Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces or Mercury/Jupiter → North
If there is no planet in the 7th house and no aspect, the direction is based on the strongest planet in the chart.
Another rule: From the position of Venus, count 7 houses. The lord of the resulting sign decides the direction.
Example: If Venus is in the 9th house, 7th from there is Scorpio, ruled by Mars, which indicates South direction.
If the 7th lord is benefic (Moon, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus) and well-placed, the husband will be handsome, fair-skinned, similar in age, and good-natured.
If malefic planets (Sun, Mars, Saturn, Rahu, Ketu) influence the 7th house, the husband may be 5+ years older.
Sun influence: fair, attractive face.
Mars: reddish complexion.
Saturn (if not exalted): dark-skinned or unattractive, significantly older.
Exalted Saturn: fair, thin, 12 years older.
Planet as 7th Lord:
Sun: round face, radiant forehead, government job, respected.
Moon: calm, fair, medium height, well-built.
Mars: strong, disciplined, short, courageous, likely in military or police.
Mercury: intelligent, communicative.
Jupiter: wise, religious.
Venus: charming, artistic.
The 9th house from the 7th house indicates the husband’s siblings.
Example:
2 female siblings if benefic planets.
1 brother, 2 sisters if Mars.
2 brothers, 2 sisters if Mercury.
The 5th house from the girl’s ascendant shows the husband’s elder siblings.
Male planets = brothers; female planets = sisters.
The 3rd house from Lagna is the husband’s fortune place.
If its lord is in own/friendly sign or favorable house, and the 5th from there is strong, the father-in-law’s town or village matches that sign.
Every zodiac sign has 9 syllables. Based on the planetary placement:
Enemy sign: 1st or 2nd syllable
Neutral sign: 3rd or 4th syllable
Friendly sign: 5th or 6th syllable
Own sign: 7th or 8th syllable
Exalted: 9th syllable (famous place)
The 10th house from the girl’s chart = husband’s residence.
If benefic planets are placed or aspect it, or if 10th lord is strong → husband owns a house.
Rahu/Ketu/Saturn → very old house.
Mars → broken/damaged house.

Strong Saturn in 10th → very large house.
The 4th house in the girl’s chart = husband's status.
